Definition of Cytoplasm

It is jelly like substance between  cell membrane and nucleus

It has different parts like vacuoles ,plastids etc

All these are called organelles of cells

Different Parts of Cytoplasm

They have different parts like Vacuoles and Plastids

Vacuoles

  • They are blank looking spaces in cytoplasm
  • They are actually not blank .They are like storage tanks of cells
  • They contain dissolved sugar, salts and waste products of cell
  • Plants have larger vacuoles but animal cells has small vacuoles

Plastids

They are many small coloured bodies present in cytoplasm

They are present only in plants, not animals

They provide cells their color

Example
