Describe the process of neutralisation with the help of an example.

Answer:

The reaction between acids and bases that leads to the formation of salt and water , is known as neutralisation reaction .

In such a reaction, acid and base cancel each other’s effect and a neutral solution is formed.

During neutralisation reaction energy is released in the form of heat .

For Example -

Hydrochloric acid + Sodium Hydroxide -> Sodium Chloride + Water + Heat

                       (Acid)                        (Base)                       (Salt)
