1.The substances which get degraded to their simpler and harmless substances over a period of time are known as biodegradable waste.

1.The substances which donot get degraded  to their simpler and harmless substances over a period of time are known as Non-biodegradable waste.

2.They can produce useful products after biodegradation.

2.They remain unchanged chemically as they are non- biodegradable.

3.They donot disturb the ecological balance in nature.

3.Most of the time they disturb the ecological balance in nature.

4.For example: kitchen waste, cow dung, wood crumbles etc.

4.For example: Plastic bags, synthetic fibers, can etc.
