Let us try a simple exercise.

Feel your muscles as you stretch your elbow and fold it

 

Can you feel your muscles contracting and relaxing?

The contraction and relaxation of these muscle cells result in movement .

 

Now let us consider another question, 

What happens to the Oxygen that we breathe in?

  • The Oxygen is absorbed in the lungs and then is transported to all the body cells through blood .
  • The blood then carries the Oxygen along with other important substances like nutrients from digested food to different parts of the body.
  • The blood also carries the waste substances from other parts of the body and brings to the liver and kidney for disposal .

 

Thus muscles and blood are examples of animal tissues .
