Melting of Wax

  • Melting of wax in a pan is a reversible change.
  • When wax (solid form) is heated in a pan.
  • It becomes liquid wax (liquid form).
  • When this liquid wax cools down .
  • It changes into wax again.

 

Burning of wax

  • The burning of a candle is an irreversible change.
  • When a candle is burnt.
  • Its size changes i.e it becomes small in size.
  • When a candle burns it produces Carbon Dioxide,water and Soot.
  • These products cannot be turned back into a candle again.
  • Thus,this process is an Irreversible process.
