Read the following dialogue and then complete the paragraph by choosing the correct options.  Write your answers in your answer sheet against the correct blank numbers. Interviewer: Was shooting in Kashmir challenging? 

Santosh: Filming in any place is difficult, but in Kashmir it was even more difficult.  Interviewer: How did the Locals react to it? 

Santosh: Many assisted us during the making of the film. I am thankful to the Local Residents.

Note/Rule: Reporting is always done in the passive voice . So, only the past perfect tense will be used along with the third form of the verb.

For part 1

Since reporting is done in past tense, option (c) will be eliminated as it is in future tense   and  for option (b) , it will be eliminated as it is in present tense

As for option (d) , it will be eliminated as ‘could’ is not the correct verb as ‘can’ talks about the physical capability of a person.

 So, the correct option would be (a) if shooting had been

For part 2

Since reporting is done in past tense, option (a) will be eliminated as it is in present tense and for option (b), it will be eliminated as ‘were’ is used with plural subjects and not with singular and 

As for option (d) , it will be eliminated as ‘could’ is not the correct verb as ‘can’ talks about the physical capability of a person.

So, the correct option would be (c) filming in any place was.

For part 3

Since reporting is done in past tense, option (c) will be eliminated as it is in future tense   and  for option (a) , it will be eliminated as it is in present tense and 

Option (d) will be eliminated as it uses ‘was’ which is the second form of the verb ‘is’ and does not make any sense.

So, the correct option would be (b) it had been even.

For part 4

Since reporting is done in past tense, option (c) will be eliminated as it is in future tense   and  for options (b) and (d) , they will be eliminated as ‘has’ is used with singular subject and not with plural and ‘locals’ are plural.

             So, the correct option would be (a) how the locals had reacted.

For part 5

Since reporting is done in past tense, option (c) will be eliminated as it is in future tense   and  for options (a) and (d) , they will be eliminated as ‘has’ is used with singular subject and not with plural and ‘many’ means plural. 

So, the correct option would be (b) many had assisted them during filmmaking. 

For part 6

Since reporting is done in past tense, option (d) will be eliminated as it is in future tense and option (b) will be eliminated as it is in present tense.

As for option (c), it will be eliminated as ‘he’ is used as a singular subject and not as plural  and ‘were’ means plural.

 So, the correct option would be (a) he was very thankful to the local.
