Answer of this question

let a and b are the integers  which  is in the former of p/q ,                                                    our assumption is 1/root2 is a rational       then,      1//root2 = a/b                                              b=root2×a                                                   root2=b/a              (root2 is not rational )     our assumption  is wrong                             so,  root2 is irrational
