Compounding Offence

It means an offence which is of non serious nature which can be settled between 2 parties mutually

If 2 parties compromise,no charges are levied on person and no trial done

Example Breach of Contract

Cognizable Offence

Those offense where police can arrest without warrent is called Cognizable offence

Example Murder

Non Cognizable Offence

Those offense where police has to first investigate and submit report to court

Only if court is satisfied that person can be arrested is called Non Cognizable Offence
