If 2a is a+a,i.e. 2×a , then making equation adding 'x' with a in both situations

---> 2a = a+x

---> a+a = a+a

where x is any positive integer

Then which is correct :

(i). x+a=2×a or (ii). x+a=a+a

JUSTIFY your answer .
