2. It is of five digit and unique for every challan

Deposit TDS Challan Offline

Procedure

1. Download TDS Challan in Excel format 
   challan 281 TDS.xls
2. Enable Editing
3. Enable Content
4. Fill Challan
5. Take Printout (1 Copy)
6. Go To Bank
7. Submit Printout of Challan 281+ Cash/Cheque
8. Bank will give Counterfoil/Receipt Back Stamped

We should have Net banking to use this feature

Net Banking may be of any person (It is not necessary that it should be of person whose TDS we are paying)

How to Pay through Net Banking

1. Click https://onlineservices.tin.egov-nsdl.com/etaxnew/tdsnontds.jsp
2. Select Challan 281
3. Fill Challan
4. Select Bank whose Net Banking we are using
5. Click Submit to Bank 
6. Click Confirm
7. Bank Website Opens
8. Make Payment by net banking
9. Challan Generated
10. Save Challan or take printout
