It is difficult to burn a heap of green leaves but dry leaves catch fire easily. Explain.

Green leaves have water in them. Water in the green leaves protects the leaves from reaching its ignition temperature, so it makes burning of green leaves difficult.
Whereas dry leaves do not have water in them, so they reach their ignition temperature easily and catch fire easily
