Ex 13.1, 1 The following graph shows the temperature of a patient in a hospital, recorded every hour. (a) What was the patient’s temperature at 1 p.m. ? At 1 p.m. , temperature is 36.5° C. (b) When was the patient’s temperature 38.5° C? Temperature was 38.5° C at 12 noon. (c) The patient’s temperature was the same two times during the period given. What were these two times? The temperature was same at 1 pm and 2pm (d) What was the temperature at 1.30 p.m.? How did you arrive at your answer? 1:30 p.m. is the point on the middle of 1 p.m. & 2 p.m. From that point, we draw a line parallel to y-axis. The point where line touches the graph is the temperature at 1:30 p.m. ∴ Temperature at 1:30 p.m. = 36.5° C (e) During which periods did the patients’ temperature showed an upward trend? The patient’s temperature increased from 9am to 10am 10am to 11am 2pm to 3pm
