Ex 9.1, 6 The sale of electric bulbs on different days of a week is shown below: Observe the pictograph and answer the following questions . Writing it in table (a) How many bulbs were sold on Friday? Number of bulbs sold on Friday = 14 (b) On which day were the maximum number of bulbs sold? Maximum number of bulb were sold on Sunday (18) (c) On which of the days same number of bulbs were sold? Same number of bulb were sold on Wednesday & Saturday (8) (d) On which of the days minimum number of bulbs were sold? Minimum number of bulb were sold on Wednesday & Saturday (8) (e) If one big carton can hold 9 bulbs. How many cartons were needed in the given week? Total bulbs = 12 + 16 + 8 + 10 + 14 + 8 + 18 = 28 + 18 + 22 + 18 = 86 Given that, 1 carton can hold 9 bulbs So, 9 bulbs can be in = 1 carton 1 bulb can be in = 1/9 carton 86 bulbs can be in = 86/9 cartons 86 bulbs can fit in = 9 5/9 cartons Since we cannot have cartons in fraction, we need 10 cartons
