it is used to calculate end of month

=EOMONTH(Select DATE,0)

USE OF TODAY FUNCTION IN EXCEL

It is used to get current date in excel

Formula is

=TODAY()

Example:-

Suppose Today is 14 Sep 2016,this command =TODAY() will show 14/09/2016

Next day,same formula will show 15/09/2016
