Rational Number Between Two Numbers

Let’s take an example

 

Find 3 Rational numbers between 1 & 2.

 

Since we need to find 3 rational numbers, multiply and divide by 4 .

 

  1 × 4/4=4/4

&   2 × 4/4=8/4

 

∴ 3 rational numbers  are 5/4, 6/4 & 7/4

 

Find 5 Rational numbers between 2/3 & 3/4

 

Step 1 : Make denominators equal.

     2/3×4/4=8/12

&   3/4×3/3=9/12

 

Step 2 :- Since we need to find 5 rational numbers, multiply and divided by 6.

  8/12×6/6=48/72

&   9/12×6/6=54/72

 

∴ 5 rational numbers 49/72, 50/72, 51/72, 52/72, 53/72
