Rational functions are of the form

r(x) = f(x)/g(x).

Where f(x) and g(x) are polynomial functions .

Since g(x) is in the denominator,

Domain of r(x) is where g(x)≠ 0

For example

If r(x) = 1/x

then, Domain of r(x) is all real numbers except 0

So, r(x) is defined from R – {0} –> R

Let us discuss r(x) = 1/x in the next question
