Ex 14.2, 3 A die is thrown, find the probability of following events: A prime number will appear, When a die is thrown, Sample space = S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6} ∴ n(S) = 6 Prime numbers between 1 to 6 are 2, 3 and 5 Let A be the event of that prime number appear ∴ n(A) = 3 Now, Probability of prime number = (n(A))/(n(s)) = 3/6 = 𝟏/𝟐
