Example 1 Find the slope of the lines: Passing through the points (3, –2) and (–1, 4) We know that slope between two points (x1, y1) & (x2, y2) is m = (𝑦_2 − 𝑦_1)/(𝑥_2 − 𝑥_1 ) Here x1 = 3, y1 = −2, & x2 = −1, y2 = 4 Putting values Slope = (4 − (−2))/(−1 − 3) = (4 + 2)/( −4) = 6/( −4) = ( −𝟑)/𝟐
