  • The six principles of sustainable development are:
    • Respect and care for the community of life : This principle means that human beings should respect and protect all forms of life and their diversity.

    • Improve the quality of human life : This principle means that human beings should ensure that everyone has access to the basic necessities of life, such as food, water, health, education, etc.

    • Conserve the earth’s vitality and diversity : This principle means that human beings should preserve and restore the natural resources and ecosystems that support life on earth. 

    • Minimize the depletion of non-renewable resources : This principle means that human beings should use the non-renewable resources, such as fossil fuels, minerals, metals, etc., in a prudent and efficient manner.

    • Keep within the earth’s carrying capacity : This principle means that human beings should limit their consumption and production to the level that the earth can sustain.

    • Change personal attitudes and practices : This principle means that human beings should adopt a lifestyle and behavior that are compatible with sustainable development.
