  • Conservation of resources means the careful and rational use of natural resources to prevent their depletion or degradation

    • For example, conservation of resources can be done by using renewable sources of energy, such as solar, wind and hydro power, instead of non-renewable sources, such as coal, oil and gas. 

    • Conservation of resources can also be done by reducing, reusing and recycling the waste materials, such as paper, plastic and metal.
  • Sustainable development means the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of the future generations to meet their own needs.

    • For example, sustainable development can be achieved by balancing the economic, social and environmental aspects of development. 

    • Sustainable development can also be achieved by following the principles of equity, participation, empowerment and cooperation among different stakeholders.
