Definition

Environment 

The surroundings in which we live.

Natural environment

It includes biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) components

Human Environment

Surroundings created by human, such as agriculture, industries, settlements, transport , etc.

Abiotic

The non living things of the environment such as  air, water and soil

Biotic

The living things of environments such as  plants and animals

Biosphere 

The narrow zone where the lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere meet and interact. It supports life and is called the ‘living world’.

Ecosystem 

A complex system of interactions between organisms and physical environment in a particular  region

Atmoshphere

The envelope of air which surrounds the earth. 

Lithosphere 

The solid outer layer of the Earth that  is made up of rocks, which are solidified from magma or lava.

Hydroshpere

The layer of water that surrounds the Earth. It includes all of the oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, glaciers, ice caps, groundwater, etc.
