  • Comets are lumps of snow and rocky dust that orbit the sun . 
  • There are about 200 crore comets in the solar system. 
  • When comets come near the sun, they glow and develop a long tail . 
  • The most famous comet is the Halley’s comet , which appears every 76 years . It was last seen in 1986 and will appear again in 2062 .
