Democracy
A form of government that is chosen by the people to work for their welfare and can be voted out by them.
Non-Democratic Government
A form of government in which people do not elect their rulers and have no right to decision-making.
Corruption
An inducement to do wrong by bribery or other unlawful means.
Poverty
Conditions where people’s basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter are not being met.
Accountable government
The government is elected by the people and therefore responsible for them.
Dictatorship
Under a dictatorship, all the powers are vested in a single person or a group of people.
Representative democracy
A type of democracy founded on the principle of elected officials representing a group of people, as opposed to direct democracy.
