Agenda 21 refers to the declaration signed by world leaders in 1992 at the United Nations Conference on Environmental and Development (UNCED), which took place at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

  • The principle of Agenda 21 is to achieve global sustainable development.
  • It aims to combat environmental damage, poverty, disease through co-operation on common interests, mutual needs and shared responsibilities.
