(c) What is the sequence of events that take place in human reproduction when an egg is not fertilised?
Answer:
(c)
The egg can survive for a day in the reproductive system.
- It travels from the ovary , into the fallopian tube . This is when the uterus prepares a lining of blood on the inner side, in preparation of the zygote.
- In the case that the egg is not fertilised , it is shed along with the lining of the uterus out of the vagina as blood and mucus .
- This process is called menstruation and occurs once every month or so (30-32 days) in people with a uterus.
