 Non-Cooperation Movement spread in the countryside: 

    1. In Awadh , peasants were led by Baba Ramchandra
    2. Movement was against the Talukdars and landlords  
    3. Peasants had to do begar
    4. no right over the leased land.
    5. The peasant movement demanded reduction of revenue.
    6. Nai - Dhobi bandhs were organised
    7. Oudh Kisan Sabha headed by Jawaharlal Nehru and Baba Ramchandra.

  2. The movement was against the Talukdars and landlords who demanded exorbitantly high rents and a variety of other cesses from the peasants .
  3. Peasants had to do begar and work at landlord’s farms without any payments. As tenants they had no security of tenure .
