How will you use two identical prisms so that a narrow beam of white lightincident on one prism emerges out of the second prism as white light? Draw the diagram.

 

Answer:

  • We use 2 prisms one upright and the other inverted to achieve given result. 
  • The first prism splits the white light into seven colours due to different angles of deflection.
  • The second prism combines the spectrum into a single ray of white light as the colours again combine in the emergent light.
