Explain why rusting of iron objects is faster in coastal areas than in deserts.

 

Answer:

  • Rusting takes place in the presence of both moisture (water) and air (oxygen).
  • In coastal areas, the moisture present in air is more than that in deserts .
  • Therefore, rusting of iron objects is faster in coastal areas than in deserts.
