Uses of windmills are

  1. To pump water from the ground
  2. To mill grains 
  3. To generate electricity.
  4. To extract oil from seeds
  5. To grind spices
  6. To process commodities like tobacco, cocoa, dyes
  7. To irrigate crops
  8. To saw woods or chop hay
