What happens when it does not rain for long period?

  1. Soil lose water by evaporation or transpiration and thus becomes dry.
  2. Water level in wells and ponds goes down as it dries up.
  3. Shortage of water for both plants and Animals.
  4. The ground water may also become scarce. This may lead to drought.
  5. In drought conditions, it is difficult to get food and fodder.
