The handles of the tools like screwdrivers and pliers used by electricians for repair work usually have plastic or rubber covers on them. Can you explain why

 

Answer:

  • Rubber is a bad conductor of electricity and hence It does not allow current to flow through it. 
  • Handles of tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, etc. which are used by electricians for repair work usually have plastic or rubber cover on them, so that current from the electrical appliances does not flow through the tools and does not harm the electricians.
  • This protects them from electric shocks.
