Difference between open and closed circuit

Closed Circuit

1.In an open circuit, the continuity has been broken as there is a gap between 2 terminals of cells  

1.A closed circuit contains a complete path between the positive and negative terminals of cells. 

2.Electric current is not able to pass.

 

2.Electric current can pass from one terminal to another.
