Basis for grouping organism into five kingdom is as follows:

1. On the basis of nature of organisation of nucleu
   - Prokaryotic vs Eukaryotic structure of cells.
2. On the number of cells
   - Unicellular versus Multicellular organisation.
3. On the basis of nutrition

The three different modes of nutrition:

• Photosynthesis(Plants)
• Absorption from the environment(fungi)
• Ingestion(Animals)

Note: One group of ‘organisms’ that does not fit into any classification is ‘ Viruses’. Viruses are extremely small particles. They donot have a cellular structure and can reproduce by invading living cells.
