Vacuoles are nothing but storage bags for the cell .
- Everything produced in a cell by any of the organelles is stored in vacuoles .
You can imagine Vacuoles to be like a bowl that can hold liquids as well as solids.

, vacuoles are
extremely large and hold cell sap.
- It is a fluid that gives turgidity and rigidity to the cell .
- Vacuoles can also store starch , oils , sugars and other food items in the cell.
- In animal cells , vacuoles are small sized .
- In unicellular organisms like Amoeba , the vacuoles hold the food eaten by the amoeba and also hold waste products (contractile vacuoles) needed to be expelled.
