- Meristematic cells are found at the growing regions and they divide frequently
- Inorder to divide, they need dense cytoplasm and thin cell wall
- Vacuoles contain cell sap that gives turgidity and rigidity to cells
- This characteristic of vacuoles is a hindrance in cell division
- Hence they lack vacuoles
