How is Cotton obtained?

  • It is the most widely used natural fiber.
  • Cotton is grown in places having black soil and warm climate
  • The fruit of the cotton plant is also known as Cotton Bolls.
  • Cotton bolls are the same size as lemon.
  • When the cotton ball matures it opens and the seed can be seen .
  • The seed is covered with cotton fiber.
  • This cotton Fiber is separated from the seed and this process is known as Ginning
  • It is mainly grown in Maharashtra and parts of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh .
