What is the importance of DNA copying in reproduction?

Answer:

DNA is the information center of a cell and stores all the information for making proteins and also for inheritance of characters from parent to offspring. Therefore, DNA replication/copying occurs so that the daughter cells have similar DNA as that of the parent and also similar characters. Alterations during DNA copying give rise to variations
