How does the creation of variations in a species promote survival? Explain with the help of an example.
Answer:
Variations in species are formed due to the errors that occur during DNA replication.
Suppose there is a variation in the temperature levels of a region or there is a change in the water level , this could lead to wiping out the whole population of organisms that were adapted to that region.
But if there are some organisms that were tolerant to these changes, they would still survive and they will further reproduce and survive in nature.
Example: Certain bacteria variants can withstand extreme heat conditions and they will survive in a heat whereas some other variants cannot.
