(i) Describe the various steps involved in the process of binary fission with the help of a diagram.
(ii) Why do multicellular organisms use complex way of reproduction?
Answer:
(i) The various steps involved in the process of binary fission are:
- DNA duplication and nucleus division
- Cytoplasm division which leads to cell division
- Two new daughter cells are formed.
(ii) Multicellular organisms are not a random collection of cells .
In them, cells are organised into tissues which are further organised into organs .
So, simple cell by cell division is impractical and hence, they use complex ways of reproduction.
