Contains one of the two types of sex chromosomes ie., either X-chromosomes or Y-chromosomes. |

This chromosomal difference helps in sex determination.
- If a sperm carrying a Y-chromosome fuses with the egg , then the zygote formed will develop into a male.
- If a sperm carrying a X-chromosome fuses with the egg , then the zygote formed will develop into a female.
