The process goes like

  • Fertilization leads to the formation of zygote(fertilised egg).
  • The zygote divides several times to form an embryo within the ovule.
  • The ovule develops a tough coat around it and gradually develops into a seed.
  • The ovary develops and becomes a fruit.
