Why is fertilization not possible without pollination?

 

Answer:

Fertilisation occurs when the male gamete in pollen grains join with the female gamete present in the ovule. 

For this is to happen, the pollen grains should be transferred from the anther of a stamen to the stigma of a carpel . This process is pollination.

Therefore, fertilization is not possible without pollination.
