  • LAN stands for Local Area Network .
  • In a LAN, a group of computers and other devices are connected over a relatively short distance.
  • It has a range of upto 1 km.
  • MAN stands for Metropolitan Area Network
  • It is a computer network that interconnects users spread over a geographical area larger than that covered by  a LAN but smaller than a WAN.  
  • It generally spans over a few buildings within a city.
  • WAN stands for Wide Area Network.
  • It connects various smaller networks including LANs and MANs.  
  • It is a network that spans over a large geographical area, often a country or a continent
