An acid dissociates into ions when dissolved in water. A weak acid does not dissociate completely into its constituent ions.
The weak acids are:
- Formic acid (HCOOH)
- Acetic acid (CH 3 COOH)
- Benzoic acid (C 6 H 5 COOH)
- Oxalic acid (C 2 H 2 O 4 )
- Hydrofluoric acid (HF)
- Nitrous acid (HNO 2 )
- Sulfurous acid (H 2 SO 3 )
- Phosphoric acid (H 3 PO 4 )
