Which of the following does not involve a chemical reaction?

  1. Process of respiration
  2. Digestion of food in our body
  3. Burning of candle wax when heated
  4. Melting of candle wax on heating

Explanation : Melting of wax involves a change in state from solid to liquid only and no chemical change is involved. Since only physical reaction is involved, it is not a chemical reaction.

However burning of candle is a chemical change as combustion reaction takes place in oxygen with production of Carbon Dioxide and water
