Describe Bohr’s model of the atom.
Answer
Bohr’s model was based on the limitations of Rutherford’s model
The model stated that:
- Electrons move around Nucleus of an atom in discrete orbits (specific paths). These orbits are called energy levels or shells.
- Electrons keep on revolving in the same shell without radiating energy while revolving (there is no loss of energy ).
- Different energy shells are K shell, L shell, M shell and N shell
