- First, draw the nucleus at the centre.
- Then make three circles around that to depict the three shells
- Mark the nucleus with ‘+’ charge
- Label the shells 1, 2 and 3 as K, L and M respectively (from inner to outer shell).
- Then fill in the electrons in accordance with the rule as 2 in the 1st shell, 8 in the 2nd and 3rd shell.
