We saw in this chapter that there are four main stakeholders when it comes to forests and wildlife. Which among these should have the authority to decide the management of forest produce? Why do you think so?

The four main stakeholders when it comes to forests and wildlife are

1. The people who live in and around the forest
2. The forest department
3. The industrialists
4. The forest and wildlife activists

Out of the four given stakeholders, the people who live in and around the forests should have the authority to decide the management of forest produce.

This is because these people have been living and maintaining forests since a long time.

And they have been doing it without damaging the environment and in a sustainable manner.
