Question 27 (OR 2nd question) If HCF of 144 and 180 is expressed in the form 13m − 16. Find the value of m. To find HCF of 144 and 180, We do prime factorization of both 180 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 5 144 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 ∴ HCF = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 = 36 Writing HCF in terms of 13m − 16 HCF = 13m − 16 36 = 13m − 16 36 + 16 = 13m 52 = 13m 13m = 52 m = 52/13 m = 4
