Question 20 Find the common difference of the A.P whose first term is 12 and fifth term is 0. Given First term = a = 12 Fifth term = a5 = 0 We know that, an = a + (n – 1)d a5 = a + (5 – 1)d a5 = a + 4d Putting values 0 = 12 + 4d –12 = 4d 4d = –12 d = (−12)/4 d = –3 So, common difference of AP is –3
